Our Programs

R3-CREA Recycled Materials and Creative Center

Located within Parque La Libertad, R3-CREA is a pioneering Creative Reuse Center dedicated to democratizing access to open-ended materials that fuel resourcefulness, innovation, and collaborative learning. By transforming clean industrial discards from allied corporations into high-value pedagogical tools, R3CREA provides a sustainable bridge between the private sector and the community. Our materials are always free, always clean, and always organized, serving thousands of public and private schools, elderly organizations, individuals with special needs, and local families annually. OPA Demonstration School and Innovation Hub

OPA is the Staton Foundation’s premier demonstration school and innovation hub, where world-class pedagogical practice meets rigorous data collection. Realized through a visionary architectural donation by Gensler, OPA serves as a living laboratory designed to test, document, and scale high-impact educational models. By synthesizing evidence-based learning with intentional, world-class design, OPA provides the empirical foundation needed to redefine early childhood standards and influence public policy across the region.

OPA Early Learning Pilot at La Libertad Park in Costa Rica

In collaboration with Parque La Libertad, the Staton Foundation is currently spearheading the OPA Pilot Program, a strategic implementation phase designed to validate our pedagogical tools and methodologies within the local community. Serving as both a direct service provider for 12 local families and a high-level training center for educators, this pilot allows for real-time iteration and data-driven refinement. By embedding our innovation hub directly into the community it serves, we ensure that the OPA model is not only world-class in design but rigorously tested and culturally attuned to the specific needs of Costa Rican families and children.

Collaboration with Costa Rica’s MADC Museum

A person with tattoos on their arm is taking a photo with a smartphone of a workspace with various metallic and plastic parts, tubes, and wheels. There are wooden posts surrounding the workspace and a partly covered table. In the background there is a stage with a yellow wall and some small structures on a green mat, with spotlights on the ceiling.

In a landmark collaboration with Bellelli Educación and the Museum of contemporary art and design (MADC), the Staton Foundation supported the groundbreaking exhibition 'Montañas cayendo del cielo' (Mountains Falling from the Sky). This initiative was designed to challenge adult-centric paradigms by bringing the image of the child into the formal museum setting. Grounded in the principle that the right to culture begins at birth, the exhibition democratized access to beauty and contemporary art, transforming the museum into a responsive space for early childhood exploration.
